Making the Astigmatismo DVD

The making of Astigmatismo´s DVD had too many delays but it´s finally reaching its end. I had a number of technical problems both with the interactive content of the DVD and the making of the box. I have also been busy sending the film to festivals and attending some of them which didn´t leave me with a lot of spare time. I appologize to everyone who is waiting for his copy. Rest assured, it´s coming, and I wouldn´t have made you wait so much if it wasn´t in order to achieve the best possible result. The silkscreen printing of the box was courtesy of Zulo Azul and the disc printing was made possible thanks to Rumble Records. I am editing a video of the process but in the meantime, below you can see some images that, hopefully, will explain why it has taken so long:

Astigmatismo in Annecy

I had the pleasure to be at the Annecy Festival, where my short film "Astigmatismo" was in international competition. Above you will be able to see me interviewed by Marcel Jean, director of the festival, during the breakfasts with directors (in french).

Loop Raccord finalist in HóPlay festival in Bilbao

I´m very proud that the Bilbao HóPlay independent videogames festival, which will take place at the Alhondiga  has selected Loop Raccord as a finalist for "best original idea" Specially when being in the company of marvels like Trauma, Fotonica, BariBariBall, Dear Esther or Fingle. I will be there from the 26th to the 28th of November.

My hopes for the future of videogames

The recent Greenlight debate got me thinking about something I had in my mind for a good while: there needs to be a way for funding videogames that are not profitable, not marketable or commercially viable. Games that are important yet won´t generate any benefits.

Why I killed Plural Games

With the recent web redesign I decided to close Plural Games, the website I originally opened to host my videogames.

ABC Museum decortation

Recently, the ABC Museum of Illustration commissioned Ultrarradio the decoration of the cafeteria coincidentally with a series of conferences by english comic authors. The motives had to be related to the works of Charles Dickens, to conmemorate the second centenary of his death.

Coherence Workshop

From the 23rd to the 25th of March I had the pleasure to give a workshop in the Mr. Marcel School.

New website and new blog

Finally I did a complete redesign of the webside and I added this blog that I´m determined to update in a regular basis. The website is much more practical and accesible now. The most important novelty is the download section where you can now grab some of my books.

This blog, apart from being a place for news and work in progress will also gather some of my ideas and opinions in terms of illustration, animation and videogames. I will also be writing in greater detail about the creative processes, intentions and outcomes of some of my projects.
